Senior Supplier Quality Engineer
Summary:

Predicts, validates, and develops supplier capabilities to improve supply chain performance. Responsible for driving superior quality within assigned commodities. Drives
-
projects focused upon Supplier key business processes that influence Customer Satisfaction,
-
Waste Elimination, Growth, Cost Effectiveness, and Product/System Quality.
Critical measurements include:
-
Finished Goods End of Line Audit (EOLA), Part Qualification (PQP)
-
Compliance, Request for Corrective Action Compliance, Supplier DPMO and Productivity.
Savings:
Participates as the quality representative on New Product launch teams.
Major dutiesand responsibilities (Essential functions):
-
Assist/train suppliers to perform root cause analysis on sourced finished good and sourced component quality issues and drive suppliers’ corrective actions.

Validate measurement systems, track supplier quality performance and drive supplier performance improvement
-
Champions, teaches and drives Part Qualification Process (PQP) compliance
-
Supports the obtainment of New Product Introduction metrics in adherence to milestone policy.
-
Works closely with commodity leaders, advanced sourcing leaders, and other sourcing personnel to maximize quality, service and innovation.

Performs supplier quality and social accountability audits in support of supplier selection.
-
Coach and facilitate quality initiative projects within the supply base
-
Teach essential quality concepts & tools to BDHHI personnel & Suppliers.
-
Travel (30-50% of the time).
-
As directed mentor less experienced Quality Engineers in the application of quality tools.

Technical/Functional Competencies:

Process engineering, with a demonstrated track record in process improvement, conflict resolution, process design and change management.

Ability to apply SPC methodology to establish control and improve performance of one or more manufacturing process

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others positively.

Demonstrated stand-up presentation skills with groups of 3-15

Demonstrated group problem solving facilitation skills.

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply statistical tools and methods to problem
solving in a quality or process improvement area:

Advanced PC/statistical skills.

Ability to provide training to other associates in the use of Quality, DMAIC and Lean tools.

Formal Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field(preferably with an emphasis on statistical methods and technical knowledge).

Green Belt or Black Belt certification desired but not required.
-
Production Operations experience highly desired but not required.
Knowledge & Experience:
Five years supplier quality experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
